Nice one there . Missed one yesterday with a inline, hopefully I get my stuff together for this week on the island
Jeff, I would give you a smart ass comment about the inline but I'm sure your tore up as it is. :pinch
Good luck next week! Kill the big one I planned on getting before this whole travel adventure went down...
Lonehunter, yes I have tried Rich's flints and they are very hot and my guns like them very well. I don't have any at moment though and Track offered overnight shipping of the stuff I needed last week. I will be geting some more of those pretty white missouri rocks though!
Very Nice!

blackpowderscout's signiture:
"Friends don't let friends hunt with inlines."
That is awesome :clap ! Great job on the dear by the way.
Very nice gun and doe. :>) Good feeling when you bring home the meat old school style. I hunt with both an inline and a couple of sidelocks. Never hunted with a flintlock though. By "straight" in your rifle spec discription I'm assuming you are talking smooth bore? If you're getting a good group at 75yds with a smooth bore that's awesome! :>) Good shootin'

No, the outside profile of the barrel is straight. Many are straight, some are "swamped" where the barrel is octagon however it narrows in as you go down the barrel then flares back out at the end. Not super noticeable until you hold it, VERY NICE HANDLING GUNS!! Others are octagon to round. Many smoothbores are octagon to round.
This particular rifle is straight barreled but my smoothie is an octagon to round .62 cal. I haven't tried ball out of the smoothie yet but she shoots a great pattern of #6 at 20yrds!!
