Decided to go check out some new woods this morning not far from the house. The weather was fabulous and I had a feeling I'd have some luck.

Set the alarm for 0530 in order to get up and grab some coffee and whatnot but my wife had the bed so warm and cozy I decided to sleep in a little longer. :rt th Got on the road around 0630 and after a stop for some coffee I was in the woods by 0730.

Now, this is a new set of woods for me. I'm not sure if it's new to the public land list or if I've just never heard of it before but it sure is nice! It's called Etoniah Creek State Forest and I think it's about 7,000 acres or so. Mixed pine flatwoods and oaks. Really nice.

Anyhow, I'm easing down the road looking for a good spot and come up on this site:

It's kind of hard to see but there are 6 different sets of flagging in the length of my truck!! Ridiculous. You see lots of flagging here in Florida on public land because of all the yuppees and newbee hunters but this is about the silliest I've ever seen. But as I look around I see the mother of all Flagging!!:

Epic, huh?

Anyhow, I continue on and find a nice oak hammock with mixed live oaks and water oaks surrounded by some old growth pine. Really nice looking spot way back away from anything. I slipped around, sat, slipped around, sat, smoked my pipe, and eased around some more for a couple hours and ended up with these.

Had lots of fun and I'm gonna have me some squirrel for lunch now.

Adam

Nice work! Those flags are pretty crazy. I did some scooting in Goethe over xmas and found some crazy flagging action! not quite as sweet as yours more every 4-6ft there was foot of tape...
