I just had to give up my 60 acres in Macon County, GA because I lost all of my partners in the deal. Thats one of the reasons I am now looking in FL next to a WMA for a smaller piece I can afford myself. That and the 5 hour drive, out of state license cost, etc. It's a shame to because after 3 years we finally had the deer patterned and had the camp set up just the way we wanted it. However I did leave on good terms with the owner, so if she hasn't sold it before season she is going to allow me to come back up for a week in November pre-rut.
thats cool.. but even 1 acre that butts up to a wma will be almost 200,000 bucks at least.
Christ you can buy acreage in Middle and South GA for $500-$1500 an acre and own it... We almost bought 91 acres in SC, 1 1/2 hours north of the GA line in 2007 for $87K and it had a house, two barns, and a lease on 50 of the acres to a farmer for Soy beans. The lease of the land and rent of the house would almost pay the mortgage and taxes.
Yep. They think their land has oil on it or something.. when i walked up to the sign at chazz and i saw 199.000 for 1 acre (shoot it might of been less maybee half acre) i almost had a heart attack right where i stood.
i have experience in buck lake and it is some of the best public land ive ever hunted. almost always see game. land around it is a little pricey and the neighbors are not the friendliest. private hunt clubs on most of the borders that dog hunt.killed this eight in there tis year on the second gun quota
