I am really feelin the need to get out in the woods,,,,,,,, i dont really small game hunt, but would love to stalk some pork.

So a couple questions, i am totally in the dark about here, any tips or info anyone would like to share? Also, what would be the best way to get there from Kissimmee?

Or does anyone know of someplace else that i could hunt some hogs within an hour and half or so of Kissimmee?

Here's a map of all the WMAs in Florida:

I didn't know there were all these little places around the state! You'll have to check each one for permitting, allowances, etc. but at least you can see what's around your area.

well, got out to baird today, and heres a little report of my day

Well I didnt have no luck, but that is some beautiful country back in there.
I probably ended up hikin back 7 to 8 miles roundtrip or so back from where I parked. I followed the first loggin road where i parked back till it ended and t'd into another, took that sucker left till that one ended and t'd into another. Took another left and followed it back about another mile or so. I would cut back into the woods at promising looking places and stalk thru, loopin back to the road and continuing on. Saw some good sign, had one pig grunting off in some thick stuff i tried to stalk up on unsuccessfully, and came across a dead hog, maybe 120 pounder, that was fairly fresh, and tore apart, either the buzzards or other hogs.

It was so dry back in there,,,,,, I was walking thru huge cypress heads, cutting thru them and never even got my boots wet, not even muddy, its so dry back there. Maybe 500 yards or so down the road from where i was parked there was a place where the road cut into right next to the cypress head. It crosses a little dry creekbed there, and there was a 15 to 20 foot round little algead over puddle left there where the creek bed cuts thru the cypress head. Had rooting all around the puddle, but that was about the only water I came across.

I got back to my truck about 4:45, and drove down baird grade, quite a ways. Its now 5:10 ,I decided to walk back another closed road and see what i could see before it got dark. Probably went close to a half mile down that road, slow walking and stopping off the road for a few minutes, looking off into the pine flats, and cypress heads along the way, using my grunt call, and listening for anything answering back. Found a few more areas, not far off the road with fresh rooting running off into the cypress. The last point i stopped at, as i came off the road and settled up against a pine maybe 10 feet of the road, I had four deer bust out from the a palmetto clump in the flat about 30 yards farther in. I stayed against this pine maybe 15 or so more minutes till dark, and one of the deer kept coming back to that palmetto clump,,, staring over towards where i am at, stomping at me then blowing and takin off. It did this 3 times in the time i was there, and it was blowing harder than any deer i ever heard. I wouldnt of had any idea what it was if I didnt see the deer. I could here him blowing even after i was heading out, about 70 or so yards back down the road towards my truck..

I am gonna try and get there again,
