the biggest deer taken every year out of duette park are taken within a few hundred yards of the check-in station.
here i go,, i hunt in gulf hammock wma-- which is a user pay, dog/and still hunt area. 20'000 acre dog//4'000acre still, our camp is up front---where we hunt is out back. our group harvested 36 deer/hogs this season, and my honda drug out over 25 of them. i spent close to 200bucks on a silent atv muffler that is unreal. drive up on turkey--deer-- hogs-- and PEOPLE. now for me,, 1 hip -1 knee- 7 hand- 2 bad shoulders and very bad case of arthitis,, my atv is actually better to ride the roads out here than my gmc suv,, much better on fuel too. i am also 50yrs old, so my haul azz is gone,, slow and easy down the road i go,,lol.
my lease in boyd- outside of perry last year i drove my atv to my stand and still harvested two great bucks and let 50+ lesser bucks walk,, most witin 25yds of my atv under my tree. shot 3 hogs sitting on the atv behind a camo net, so it is a tool just as my gun is.
so no atv --- no hunt for me
