like you said there's nothing like trying carry 100+ lbs of dead weight for a mile. and there's alot of places you just can't get a truck close enough to.
Separates the men from the boys, IMHO

Yea, tell that to my back surgeon,,,,,,,
as far as quads on the wma's,,,, I am on the fence,,,,,, most of the ones that allow them, allow them only on named and numbered roads you can drive your truck on anyways, so, except for the ease of coming to camp in one truck and trailering a few quads, to split off and hunt different areas, they offer no real advantage. It just creates opps. for A-holes who are there to play on them, to be gunning up and down the roads all day, and those are the same A-holes who will be cutting thru feilds and going places that you arent supposed to anyways, probably ruining your hunts.
So I guess i am more against them on the WMA's, because if they are allowed, it is going to just draw mostly the A-holes who come to play, and not obey the rules, verses a small number of responsible hunters who are using them as allowed.

I know all the good deer are in the thick far away.
Yo cr0ck1, you do know that that is the biggest misconception there is in deer hunting,,,,,,,,, just cuz you are 2 miles back does not mean you have a better chance of a big one, than the guy a few hundred yards in along a creekbottom. getting back deep like that gets you away from most of the other guys, so less pressure in the area, but just as many big boys are taken out close to the access areas,,,,, its all finding the right mix of cover, bedding, travel routes and food to get them moving in that area.
very true. i just like to go where none has been and the deer are not s alert.
