I have come across a new opportunity in this area for a hunting lease. The owner mentioned he was very close to Camp Misery and 3 Rivers? How is this area for hunting? I thought this area was mainly dog hunting.
On another note, I know the Middle Aucilla WMA is quota but the owner mentioned something about the Water Management District giving out hunts via raffle. Has anyone heard of this?
Perhaps this should be a seperate post but are there any other hunting opportunities out there from public entities besides the FWC / WMA's arrangement, ie Water management districts, etc?
The area where you are asking about is mainly a dog hunting area but there are still hunting areas. I bow hunt aucilla and run dogs for deer in that area and do really well every year.
Some counties have public land for hunting. For instance, Manatee County has Duette, but getting in on it can be tricky. It's like they keep it a secret and you have to know who to ask and where to look on county websites to find out about the hunts.
