Well I do not have a permit for opening week end of turkey. I got an invite from a friend to hunt a little over 300 acres south of Perry. We will be staying on his BIL 20 acres by Branford. I am a WMA hunter to heart, and saw Mallory is open with no permits so I thought we would hunt there until 1:00 than head over to the private land for maybe a hog, or an afternoon bird. I was just looking for a tidbit of advise on Mallory. How's the pressure, how's the bird population. I have done some ariel home work, and have a spot picked out I just have never been to the place. If some one wants to throw me a bone it would be appre.
Thanks!

My lease is about 10 miles from there. You will actually drive right by it, depending on how you come into the WMA.
I haven't been there in years. They had a severe muck fire back about 10 years ago, and it completely changed the dynamics of the place. Wish I had a spot to tell you to go...I just don't

It is full of game though

Actually, I just looked at the map. You will probably access it on the east side over by Lafayette forest.
I am on the West side of it over by Mayo

Thanks Allen! I think I have 2 good looking spots picked. I am more worried about the competition. Most of the place looks real wet, and like there are a lot of canals. I located a couple of nice hammocks that look fairly dry with what looks like some old pasture, or cuts. I am definately pumped up to go there. It just sucks going in some where totally blind. It is kind of far from St. Pete, and we didn't decide to go there until this week. So I missed any scouting opportunity. Thanks any way!
