Thanks for the reply. I ended up grabbing the old ladies SUV and went out there for a quick scout on Sunday. After wandering around for a few hours, I left pretty disappointed. Aside from the 3 taken out, nothing doing...I didn't even see many signs of activity....more gators and doe than anything....and you are right....there were a shit ton of people checked in. Oh well....another solid hog location in the south region bites the dust.

Thats ashamed! This was once a good wma and ruined by FWC.They could have had the hog hunt and had a limited time like 2 weekend hunts and would have thinned them down perfectly where the food source for the other animals were equal but will take years to rebuild only if they cut it out for a long time.I know hogs breed like rabbits but with the hunting and trapping on bordering land it will be a while before they regroup anywhere close to a decent herd. Not only that but the turkey hunters will see the change as there will be people in there shooting up the place til a few days before your hunt.

Is there another decent place to go in the souht region? I live in Naples and haven't heard of much within an hour drive, other than ranches. If you need someone to scout with you let me know!

Some of the more seasoned guys can better answer that....but we are limited in the south. ESP the deep south like us.

Yeah I moved here a year ago and have not gone out in the woods yet. Mostly because I have no idea where to go!
