I have called the number for getting a camping permit and get no replies.
Has anyone got a camping permit for citrus? If so how.
I called the number in the FWC pamphlet. I call and left emailed with the Withlacoochee State Forest but have never gotten one reply.
I guess i just camp without one?
Hey, I just got a hold of them. It is first come first serve. You just have to head down there the day you want your site and get one. I don't know if you live far away from there, but if you do I would try to call ahead so you don't waste a trip. I forgot to ask for you but the brochure does say there is a fee, so have cash on hand. I was told they have some available now, don't know if you were planning on going out today or not. Hope this helps.
I been calling them for months with no reply. letters are going to be sent to the FWC this is BS.
No i don't live close I am fallowing the rule put in the pamphlet by the FWC. wont be there till late the night before the hunt.
Anytime you are going to camp in citrus or croom you should contact the US Forestry. They run the campsites.
Citrus contains 3 camp sites and 1 over flow area at holder mine which is the cheapest and most of the time has openings.
It is a turnkey system or something like that, find an empty spot put your stuff on it, fill out the paperwork, add your cash and drop it in the box.
Have a nice hunt.

It's not the FWC, it's the ruled by the State Dept of Forestry
Last time I was there we camped at Holder Mine, it was $10 per night.
Pick a empty campsite, throw your stuff down on it, go across Rd 10 to the high rent district and ask where you pay for the camp site. They may have the drop box, i don't remember it, I payed a lady that came by as I was setting up camp.
Please take note of the campsite number post, if the number post has a name on it, that site is occupied.
