nice.. i did a huge batch and ate em all.. one thing.. you can really mess up a batch if you even put a little too much cure in the mix.. it will be a salt massacre.. (learned from that mistake) lol.

Yeah the cure is actually poisonous in large amounts

Just put a batch of jerky in the smoker. I started on the dehydraiter and now I only use the smoker. The taste is like night and day.
Also I have never used the cures out there. I have my own recipe. I think I need to sell this stuff. I have people asking when are you making jerky agan.

Never seen a dehydrator without a fan. I recently killed my first dehydrator after many years and bought one for $5.00 at a yard sale. Most people buy them and hardly use it , and off it goes to the yard sale.
My base recipe is 1/2 cup soy, 1/4 Worcestershire , onion, and then the experimenting begins. Never have used the cure salt, I think I would if I did foul of any type. I like the idea of using a smoker.
