Hard to beat fresh fried mullet, especially with grits and hushpuppies! But like all fish, you gotta clean it right and make sure the oil is hot when you put in the fish, and don't add too much fish too fast.
That really looks good, like it's done up right. I got to get down to my dad's and catch some. He said Gottfried Creek is full of big ones.

Hell yes. Can't stand it when people throw the back bones away. Thats the best meat on the fish
I don't usually save back bones,but usually fry mullet with bone intact.Kinda buterfly them,did you buy them or net them?
