My dad "pickles deer heart", cans it in jars, let's it sit, and eats it with crackers... I never had a taste for it but he loves it... Just like you'd pickle dill pickles, add some onions, garlic, and pickle juice I guess and hot seal them... When I was a kid, he told me that was the best part of the deer next to the tenderloin.
canned heart is great to eat.........
I'd try it. I like chicken hearts and gizzards. But one question. Do deer get heart worms or parasites? I've read where people do the same thing with wild hog hearts. Ever tried that?
ive neve tasted it but it looks good.. This weekend i killed two hogs and my friends girl took the livers, hearts, feet, and ears. YUCK. guess people like different things. Sounds like shes fixin to make a "death soup" as i call it.. lol
What, no Fred Sanford pig tails?
