I want to buy a meat grinder to grind my hogs.
I'll use it only about a dozen times a year or less and it will need to grind only small (+/- 10 lb.) amount each time.
I'm not sure I need a electric one or just a manual one will be sufficient.
My wife and son loves burgers and meat loaf made from ground hog.
Right now I use a grinder my friend has but it's 50 mile trip each way.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
no it wont.
My recommendation is 1.5 hp size 32 stainless grinder you can price one from Cabals probably around 7-900
once you have one you will do more and more and more.
Now come on Ted. You know well the average man can't afford one that expensive.
kc45, Here's a picture of the grinder and stuffer that were purchaced from Northern Tool. Several years ago I purchased the #32 grinder for around $50. Some come with a pully that you can add an electric motor with a little bit of redneck ingenuity. I've worn out several of the "chinese specials" over the years but this one has a thrust bearing on the shaft that has eliminated the problems I had encountered before. Just can't justify paying a big price for a good grinder that I only use for 4 or 5 deer each year. treefarmer
