You did something wrong, then. I have owned one for 20 years and USE the crap out of them. Not only processing wild game, but also store bought stuff.

I just replaced my original last year with a new one. And I gave away the one my parents used for years to a friend of mine that was still strong after sealing probably 5000 bags
