It is very addictive. Get an ole tom gobbling good and it is a pure adrenalin rush. The only thing close is a bull elk bugling
I was out tuesday and the gobbles are starting to leave the large groups into pairs. I had some three day take left from deer season and put it out for the hogs. The hens came into my feeders at dark and only ate the thee day take and left the corn.I have never had the turkeys in the feeders that late.

hopefully in sept i will get a chance too see and hear a elk up close and personal!!
last year me and my son went to chass before the turkey season and called one up to my car. we were drivin back and my son had to go to the bathroon so i pulled over and started calling. nothin.. started the car pulled out on the road and there where three of them. so i quick shut the car off and started doing some soft calls. they came within 20 yard of my truck was the coolest thing ever! was also the first one i had ever called in.
IN 2003 I went to Colorado on the elk rifle hunt in October. They were still bugling pretty good, but the rut was pretty much over. It was definitley an experience, especially for a cracker like me
i have an open invite to elk hunt oregon, just not the money.
