Went Turkey hunting and all I took home was my decoy

Don't feel bad. I had some lousy luck this weekend. The icing on the cake though was leaving the WMA turning on to the main Highway and seeing the biggest dang gobbler ever strutting around on the side of the road.

i see one every year on private land that borders upper hills, on my way home.

Last year driving to Lochloosa, I passed a big group of trucks along the road by Grove Park. Spent the morning listening to people blowing crow calls. On the way home after 1pm, right where the trucks all were at Grove Park, was a huge strutting turkey in the road. I can guess he is saying " I heard all these hens, where are they?"
