This year due to financial and work reasons I find myself without a lease. This didnt bother me so much for deer season but turkey hunting is my absolute passion. My work schedule has me off on Wednesdays and I live pretty close to Upper Hillsborough and thought I would give it a try this year. I havent been there in probably 8 years. Im not looking for any gps coordinates or anything like that just a little advice on where to start and if anybody thinks its even worth trying? I have heard there are birds in there and after the first week the crowds get pretty small and it doesnt get alot of pressure since it is only open on Wed. and Thurs. Any info and help would be appreciated since I dont have alot of time to scout like I would like to.

I plan on hitting it a couple times this year. Not sure if I am going to go opening day or not as its usually packed(from what I hear) but like you said thins out after that. I can tell you where I have hunted, and saw turkey sign during hunting season and small game season. Send me a PM and i'll tell you

Glad to see you're gonna try and get out there Milkman. I figured it was killing you with not being able to get on the thunder chickens. Thanks for trying to help him out IL2H. He's a friend and a good guy that got thrown a curve ball with work and missed our whole season. Matter of fact you 2 live pretty close to each other I think. As I said before Milkman, you're welcome to hunt with me anytime and anywhere. :toast

Yeah Doug as you know this last year has been pretty rough and I have been in a real funk. I have just been bombarded with everything and kind of lost interest in everything that I love to do, which is a big mistake cause then it just gets worse. But like always around this time of year the itch starts coming back and Ill be damned if I dont at least try to get on a thunderchicken. I just love this time of year whiperwhills singing there song everything coming back to life and there is just something about hearing that gobble that cant be beat. My boots are in Georgia so I am borrowing my dads who is a size and a half bigger than me so I will probably have blisters all over my feet but I dont care just to be able to play the game. Are you going to try that piece of property you have access to around Brooksville or did that fall through?

I know the feeling man. I hunted a total of 5 weekends since bow opened. Worst season of my life and second worst year of my life. I told my family to plan on not seeing me at all on any weekend next fall thru spring

What size boots you wear?
