ok heres my opinion about why the turkey hunting slows down in the middle of the season...
Beginning of the season and even leading up to hunting, its pretty easy to get them gobbling because they arent with any hens yet and are friskier then johnl and nacho at the titty bar. Once week one, week two and into week three they have their hens and have no reason to gobble cause they already have what they want. Once the hens lay their eggs and dont wanna play anymore, then the gobblers go back out for more. So im thinkin they should be starting to leave their first hens and will be looking for the others that havent been mated with yet. Im thinkin things will start pickin up, but that doesnt mean they will gobble all morning while walkin around. They might gobble in the tree and will sneak up on you completely silent. so im gonna start sitting in one spot a lot longer then before. IMO thats whats up and thats my game plan :toast :toast

was just discussing the exact same thing with a buddy of mine. sounds like a good plan.
Just gonna start hunting like i do deer...just sit till noon and wait for them to show up...maybe call a little at first light
