I went up today and turkey hunted with Hellbilly. Beautiful morning. did a good job getting him his first hog, tried to get him his first thunder chicken. the morning started alittle rough, the "guide" couldn't find the honey hole in the dark. lol . so changed up tatics to "run and gun" all morning. walking into some beautiful woods, looked like prime turkey woods. after a few hours of walking and calling. nothing, notta, zilch. didn't even cut a turkey track. went and check out a new area. walking through some nasty, wet ,muddy roads. through some burned woods. just nasty looking stuff. Looked like the killing fields of 'Nam after a napalm strike. couple hundred yards down this road. FRESH turkey tracks with drag marks in the mud. These birds didn't know that turkeys don't like getting wet. they damn near were wallowing in the hog rooting. lol . spotted some hens. grabbbed a tree, called and pissed off a hen. had alittle conversation with her, hoping she would come to me and bring her boyfriend with her. but she just went quiet. waited alittle and walked some more and saw 2 more hens. was a good day. Hellbilly got his exercise for the month. lol. saw some bald eagles. them darn swamp turkeys. lol. i think one of the hens had cutters on her. lol. was a good day. i know where to go next time.

I finally got out and went bird hunting this morn. Thought we were gonna get one,set right by a tree full of gobblin' thunder chickens. They were going crazy for about 20 minutes then the hens decided to join in. When they came down from their roost they went straight to the hens never to be seen.Was exciting for a little while.My buddy killed one there yesterday,thought fer sure we'd get one this morn.

Yea man you guys looked beat. yea im gonna be goin out tomorrow morning and more then likely monday morning as well. should have the woods to myself monday :toast
