Awesome! I might play hooky from work tomorrow and chase some birds in a particular wma. Wasn't planning on it, but seeing all these trophy's has a way of changing your mind.

Better get there early. Ive heard the first day is crowded, people sleep in their trucks in line to get in. After the 1st day its no problem.

considering I haven't got one yet I'm having a great year. seeing multiple birds each time out but my back pain/neck stiffness and legs falling asleep are keeping me fidgeting, maybe need to try one of those pop up blinds, any of you guys use them/like them? even carried in 2 guns last night the shotgun and 22 mag. had a tom at a little over a hundred yds, easy enough for a base of neck/body shot but couldn't see the beard ,even brought the binocs. either he didn't care for my calling or maybe it was the yankees cap on my deke.

I've gone on opening morning for the past few years. I live 15 minutes away so I can leave my house at 4 and be the 15-20th truck in line. After that you're right. You can basically walk up any time you want and get in.

Last year I had one coming in on a string. He spied my decoy and then started looking around. I didn't have any cover in front of me cause I got there late and he busted me. That's when some of you guys said to cut some palm fronds and stick them in the ground. :wacko Duh! why didn't I think of that!

Glad to see you got 1. There are some real pretty woods up in that area. Just not much in Mallory it was like hell with water. My ariel research did pay off though. I had birds gobbling each day, but the locals were on them also. None were killed around me, and the few shots I heard were on private land. Congrats!
