Nope it's a peacock with tail down. Peahens are brown all over.
Got up here to the woods about 11 today. Did some walking around and have a couple birds located. I went to a spot that Ive watched turkeys all huntin season. I slammed my truck door and one gobbled down in the hammock at it.. This was at 2:30pm.
I eased down the dim road and snuck in the woods a bit. I could hear him gobbling every few minutes
Got a glimpse of him in full strut with a few hens with him. I slowly backed out of there and am just gonna sneak in real early in the morning with my little partner. Hope he can shoot straight.
They have roosted in the same spot the whole time I have been on this lease so I know where they will be. Just hope I am seductive enough to lure him away
I think I am more pumped taking this young man hunting than if it was opening day by myself
