anyone use these down here? what'd you think? I used one up in N.Y. (where there realy aren't any peacocks) and either got no response or incredibly loud/angry responses, plus it is very loud and travels far. plus it's small and easy to use.

They work here too. I have one I use when owl or crow call gets no answer. Can't remember brand name, but good to have something different to try. I have heard them gobble at thunder during incomeing storm, and once forgot to silence cell phone that morning, and someone called me when bird was closeing in he gobbled at every ring and kept comeing in for the dirt nap!

I have one. Mine is a peacock/woodpecker call. Its one of those things that I carry but rarely use. We have enough owls, crows and P. woodpeckers firing off naturally that a locator call is rarely needed.
when Carlos was with me last year on opening morning, that bird was gobbling his ever living head off at a woodpecker

I carry one but rarely use it,I have also been known to carry a little air horn with me and it works pretty good.

Eddie Salter told me personally years back he swore by using a silent dog whistle. Never tried it so I can't vouch for it
