What would you choose?
Keep in mind this is for my son

The shot will be out of a ground blind on a shooting stick. Shot will be 20-25 yards(pretty much a given for this spot where the turkey will be)

NEF .410 3" mag full choke with a big thick heavy barrel. ( I have some #6's in 3")
or
Savage over/under .22/20ga(obviously using the 20 barrel). Gun is pretty short, but is a 3" and a full choke
I have some 3" #5's for it

I know the easy answer is to pattern both, which I will do in 2 weeks when I go up tot he woods. Just getting opinions...and I am bored

I personally would go with the 20 provided you get a decent pattern out of it. More shot and knock down power to compensate for margin of error. But plenty of turkeys have died from a .410 so I wouldn't hesitate to use it if it patterns a lot better.

Move him on up to the big boys gun....LOL, an 870 3" mag in 20g is what I use 🙂

My dad just bought me a super bantam 20 today. I can't wait to set it up. Got a sumtoy choke and 3 boxes federal heavyweight 7's ordered. No more mule kicking 835 and lugging that heavy sob around. The patterns these guys are getting out of these guns is nothing short of amazing.
