Don't feel left out. I killed one the next to last day of fall season with a 25-06. Cut his head slap off. He ate good and I sleep well at night

3 1/2" turkey loads are BRUTAL on recoil. I have gone back to 3" they kill just as good and less recoil.

I think I am going to be changing over to 20 Gauge, and keeping only a couple of 12's. My dad has been shooting them dfor over 20 years and has had as much if not more success than the rest of us. The new remington slugs in 20 gauge are unbelievable and a 3" #4 shot for Turkeys would do just fine.

If I had to do it over again, I would build a 20ga swamp chicken gun. Ive got too much time and gadgets invested in my super mag or I would. These 20ga guys shooting 3" Nitro shells are blowing my 12ga patterns away. No pun intended

I just don't know how they hold up at longer ranges, though( ft lbs of energy). I know I can flat jelly head one at 50yds

I was thinking my deer gun for shotgun only areas in FL, GA and NY. My remmy 870 Mag Rifled Cantilever with 2 3/4" or 3" Slugs is a recoiling MF and you don't even want to sight it in! I have been looking at a Remmy 1187 Rifled Cantilever for deer.

For Turkey IMHO outside of 50 yards with a 12 gauge 3" or 3 1/2" is further than I want to shoot, unless maybe going for ducks, geese or crows. Those 3" 20 gauges do pattern quite well!!
