So this morning I set out by myself to a spot I hadn't hunted yet this year but knew there should be some gobblers in the area. At the crack of daylight I heard one on each side of my truck. I started heading to one and then decided the other one was closer. While I couldn't make up my mind, both ended up coming closer to me. I took off after one and he was gobbling his head off. I got setup and he came out to the right of where I expected him to. He got behind a big oak and I turned my gun toward him. I was shaking so bad as he was strutting around that I couldn't keep the bead on his head. I clucked and as he stuck his head out, boom! I missed him at 30 yds. He ran away and the other gobbler, who was now just beyond my sight, vanished also. Although I didn't kill a turkey, it was an exciting morning..

It was fun and I'm officially hooked on turkey hunting now. I'm carrying the secret weapon in the morning, an experienced hunter to coach me lol

A day in the woods is better then a day at home!
