You need to ask that question, you need to hand in your man card. Get a drag rope and get humping.
Ok i should put you to the test. This is with no cart old parking area in toso on the pastures.
80 lb deer on shoulder to the picnic table at end of bee head. Then to the power lines. This only includes about 150 yards of muck. short walk only .73 miles.
I don't know about you guys but 3/4 to 1.5 is norm for me getting to old for the long walks.
Gutting then dragging just lead to contamination of meat. If you look close at my photo you can steep inside the front end and walk it like a rickshaw makes it easy. I also have a real competitive group of friends and we compete for the largest so no gutting. I have had largest hog in multiple wma for the season. I going for it in toso this year i saw him in bp. Have to see if hes there in the same spot this week end.
get yourself a camo'd rikshaw lol. I'd bet you could make some good $ if you put a sign with cell # to haul out game on wma's from us fat old hunters.
My smart ass remark was not on what the best way to get an animal out of the woods would be,just the fact the questions was asked. If you kill an animal in the woods and have nothing, you drag it. I have used belts, gun slings, dog leashes, drag ropes, safety straps, friends,or whatever it takes. Some things you need to figure out. I'm 45 with a gimped up back, now I prefer to use my sons as my prefered method of dragging game. Also I don't worry much about getting dirt in the gut cavity,I don't eat that part so they get gutted where they fall if it's a long walk.
