I was thinking about going out and hunting Chass Sat. and possibly Sun. I got the area map and was interested in hunting zone A near the gulf. How do I get to that side from the enterance? Can I take hog and deer this week end with a management stamp? Will regular boots work for this hunt or do I need waterproofs or knee highs? I want to get as far away from where most hunters go as I can. Would I be on point to get as close to the Gulf as I can?
I have never hunted Chass before but I know this site holds some Chass vets.

just got back from there a few minutes ago, I didn't go towards the gulf like your planning. I think it's a good plan but be prepared for a long walk to the gulf and a long drag back if sucsessful, I've seen guys hunting the wet areas with waders. there were only about 6 other hunters there this morning but I would expect the weekend to be packed, but I think that would work in your favor if you could get in there deep and early and let everyone else push them to you. now I don't know my way around there well at all and as crock says alot of it may be impassable, but if you are determined and in decent shape I think youd be able to get back there. I saw 3 whitetail rumps on the move and could'nt tell if they were bucks or does.
