Young boars are alright I guess but if you shoot an older one they turn rank.If you cook it in your oven you will never get the smell out.It has a piss smell to it.They say that if he does not run it is not as bad but I can still smell it. The taste isn't much differnt but I made sausage out of a domestic boar we even cut and fed for a month and I could stilll smell it.Last year we made ove 500# of sausage 🙂 and fed alot of people that were having tough times. They dont go to waiste. The Big cat habitat goes threw 3200# of meat a week so they are happy to get anything we give them.If anybody wants my boars they are welcome to them.

when this happens you gotta age the meat.. take the meat and fill the cooler with ice half way. throw the meat in then fill the rest with ice. sprinkle baking soda on top and leave the cooler on an angle with the water spout open. this will let all the melted ice water drain out.. keep filling the ice and do not let the meat sit in water.. just keep the cooler on an angle and keep filling the ice.. that will make the meat taste good and get the nasty flavor out. the baking soda helps for a rank hog.
