I had no cases to do today only paperwork and was curious about how much corn the pigs ate last nite, but it was raining pretty hard and did not have the 4wd, so said what the heck packed up my gear broke out my tree umbrella brought my paperwork and clipboard out to the stand. I hung a gallon of stink corn in a plastic jug about 5 feet of the ground, set up the umbrella and got my work done "alfresco". papers were getting a lttle soggy from the humidity but all in all not bad.hogs did not eat all the corn from the nite before, just some. had to call it quits around 3:30 due to lightning plus the fields were getting soggy and didn't want to get the car stuck. better than working from my desk.
Doing work in stand now thats fun!
well we got alot more rain in the last couple of days than I thought. found out at 5am on my way into stand nomaly dry, was suddenly up to my calfs, unfortunately boots only came up to ankles, just imagine a fat guy up in a tree stand taking off his shoes pouring out the water wringing out socks and putting back on in the dark/quietly, not an easy feat. first rung of the ladder was under water. glad it wasn't cold. def gotta bring a change of boots/sox.
After all that did you see or hear anything?
saw a real stocky heavy bobcat, maybe pregnant. hunting same area, same time, same game, must be getting better
