Well, took my little 8 yr old camo princess for her first hunt yesterday evenin.
Didn't have to travel far, and I knew we'd have a piggy bagged in a couple hours. So, we sat out behind Grandpa's house about 4pm. It wasn't long before a yearling doe, and older sister, and her mama come out and head back past us toward the feeder. After about 20 mins, mama doe got real spooky. At first I thought it was because of the wind, but then she left the little one and came back past us and started "the stomp" after she got up wind of us. That was my queue. The yearlin doe and her sister took off with mama, and out strolls the mama to the "6 little piggies" we trapped about 2 weeks ago at about 50 yards. 20 nerve rackin seconds later, and the Ruger 22Mag barks, and down she went to stay.
The look on my little camo princess's face was priceless. And the first words outta her mouth were "Dad! That was awesome! We got BACON!!!!!!". Of course, being the lame brained idiot I have a tendency of bein, I left the good camera at home and only had my crappy phone camera, but here's the one pic I got. It's not super clear, but it's pretty cool.
Now, I know I have a huntin buddy even when my FIL backs out at the last minute. Grandpa and I are gonna start getting her 22LR ready and start teachin her to shoot.
Thats cool. My buddy has been bringing his daughter hunting with him since she was little. She has bagged several deer and hogs. Now she's 13 and has boys on her mind.
:clap :clap good deal. love to see the youngns out in the woods.
congrats
must be a great feeling, congrats to both.
