H60mech she will be good with the 30/30 she can handle that gun just fine and it has killed more in North America than any other gun. It is very versatile and you can get shells for it any where.

Well crap, the wife threw me a curveball, went to gander mountain today to somewhat size her for a rifle that felt good to her, and we tried a youth size mossberg 243, no, then a marlin 30-30, no, then remington model 770, no, she loves the model 700, she wants it in 270. BTW gander mountain has a BAR up there for $6??, thought it was a deal, but I'm saving for something else. Anyways, any of you guys have a remington model 700, 270 for sale?
Get the same gun in 243, and shoot 85gr Barnes TSX bullets in it. It will put any animals D*** in the dirt. Guaranteed...
