So I've come up empty handed AGAIN today at Green Swamp. First year hunting and haven't killed anything yet.
I'm thinking I need someone experienced to show me the ropes or maybe take me to to their sweet spot. 🙂
Any ideas or volunteers? I'm off work until 1/5!
Hang in there, If it was easy women and children would be doing it. Oh wait they do. 😆 It's all about putting the time in and allot of luck. I have hunted certain WMA's for a few years and never killed anything. But other people kill deer there on a regular basis. Try scouting some more for next season It pays off, or for me it has.
Actually, the rut should be ready to kick off in there. They should be in pre-rut mode right now witht he younger bucks cruising looking for does.
If I were gonna go to Green Swamp right now I would find a place on a palmetto flat where you could see a long ways between some bay heads or cypress swamps and keep my butt in the stand. One of the biggest bucks I have ever seen in Fl was new years weekend in 2004. He was casing a doe wide open and I couldnt get on him.
Some of the bigger bucks are killed the last 2 weeks in GS
