Where abouts did this happen?
Pseudorabies usually takes a couple days to manifest and another day or two to kill...
I guess it's possible but seems unlikely they died from the previous days activities.
what would the OP have to gain by lying about something like this? Or do you just think everything typed on here is a bunch of BS?
Nope, I never claimed to be "Sherlock Holmes" as one guy called me or accused the OP of lying.
I was trying to help by telling him that it took a couple of days so that maybe he or his friend could hopefully better pinpoint the activity / time / place that his dogs got sick so they could avoid it in the future.
Not everyone in the world is an ass.
I got the same impression, sorry. It was just a wake up call for my hog hunting friends, sucks losing good dogs,a 3'd one died yesterday. There is no cure if a dog gets infected,I always called it brain fever,it's also called mad itch. It's a form of herpes and they say 60% of wild hogs carry it. If the hog has an outbreak and your dog bites it,your dog will die. When hogs are over populated it becomes more prevelant. Also when there all drinking from the same water hole when it's dry.I've been dogging hogs for over25 years and have never seen it or known any dogs that caught it.Just sucks real bad watching your dog trying to scratch it's brains out and theres nothing you can do for it.
I've never seen or heard of it either.
Theres no shot to prevent it?
