A buddy of mine I hunt with had his two best dogs die a few days ago. One died at his camp and the other got sick and he had to put it down. He had no clue what they had. The second dogs head swelled up and the poor thing went crazy scratching its head. The two killed a bunch of young pigs the day before and were in perfect health. Vet said they got pseudo rabies. There is no cure or vaccine,so be careful out there. This is some real heartbreaking crap, and if your dog gets it he is DOA. It is transferred from raw meat or blood from hogs to dogs, mainly from young pigs. With all the water managemnt lands letting hog breeding go unchecked and very little hog hunting allowed it's only gonna get worse.

Pseudorabies usually takes a couple days to manifest and another day or two to kill...
I guess it's possible but seems unlikely they died from the previous days activities.

It takes 48 hrs after being infected, the vet said it was pseudorabies. They hunted the dogs the day before Sherlok Holmes,it seemed they died the next day but your right, they prolly got infected a day or two before. Yesterday another dog died that was hunting with these dogs.
