Also gotta beware if you're butchering your kill to eat.. I would assume its probably NOT a great thing to eat the meat of a hog with this disease

All wild hogs carry lots of diseases. I'd bet if half the guys on here knew what they had they wouldn't even touch them. Main thing is to thuroughly cook pork. The pseudorabies I don't believe effects humans. Just make sure it's done before eating it. What pisses me of is swftmud lets very little hog hunting for anybody and their land is nothing but a sanctuary for hogs.I've never seen hogs as thick as I have lately.

sorry about the dogs. it's got me wondering about my feeder now. ya think an infected pig eating corn from a feeder could pass it along to cows, birds, coons, possums etc?

Skunk your right if most folks knew what we dealt with while catching and killing hogs they wouldn't go in the same woods with them. Psuedo is no nice thing to mess with I have been around it and it will upset you as a dog owner, but there are many others that have to deal with it. Cattle, sheep and many others also deal with this, it is not only the hog hunters and there dogs. A very healthy hog can carry psuedo and not show any characteristics. I think the problem that I have is losing my F'ing dogs that hurts my feelings DAMNIT. OK enough on my rant but ya it pisses me off to.
