Welcome to the site
Let me know if you need any help, there CWF! I'm in Sarasota, near the airport, and I'm all for protecting our golf courses from those terrible boar hogs!
That airport is where my grandparents' private jet is garaged in hanger. :saluting
And I went out there this morning, found a trap that is been set up by other people out here... I'm kinda pissed... haha
But funny thing is, there were pigs around that place for whole entire night but they didnt even go near the trap. The trap was baited with corns and the trapper also put some corns around the trap and made little trail towards inside the trap but pigs didnt even touch that place.
I guess pigs already know they're gonna get trapped if they go in. It was a Gulliotine style trap with one-step trigger mechanism. Basically a wooden panel where its baited with corns is connected with tiny rope and tied to a piece of tiny steel bar and holds the Gulliotine style door in the middle. Once pig barely touches that wooden panel, a tiny steel bar comes off from the middle where its holding the door and door just shuts it without mercy. I personally tested how sensitive the trigger was, and I barely touched with my one foot and BOOM! So I guess the guy who set up the trap has been catching pigs one by one and pigs learned not to go into that trap... I dont know but Im just guessing.
