Heyy guys thank you for your hospitalities and advices.
I went out scouting today again and found couple more fresh rooting sites.
They were less than 100yds away from where we set the trap however, I could not find any sign of them visited trap recently... So I guess they are wondering around trap but they are not showing up to that place anymore....
Sometimes moving the trap 10-20' makes all the difference in the world. make sure to cut a little bit of brush and brush the trap in a bit. That seems to make them feel safe. They will be back
Found so many fresh tracks and freshly rooted areas tonight.
And they came back to the trap and ate all the corns as well. (The last time i checked the trap with full of corn was this morning. I went out tonight again and %90 of all the corns were gone and they left numerous tracks and rooted areas as well!!!)
And near the trap, there is a half broken acorn tree and we were shocked....I guess one of the pigs rubbed on that tree and we measured the height of that muddy part of the tree. It was slightly less than 3ft high...So I guess its gotta be a pretty big pig...
Also about 50 yds away from that trap, they quite ruined the golf course grasses as well.... And I realized those areas where rooted that we've found tonight were very fresh as well. The soils from rooted areas were dry as they could be. It rained few days ago and if the sites were old, they were must be wet just like other spots that we've have checked.
Also from freshly rooted areas, we've found multiple tiny bitty piglet foot prints so we assumed they had youngs not so long ago. From trails of foot prints, we guessed about 10-15 adult pigs and about 10 piglets. They are moving as two or three different groups because the tracks were with different size pigs. One area where we found tracks were 1 sow and 5-7 piglets, other area was about 3-5 adults with few piglets, and other part was more than 7 adult pig foot prints... And they were very very fresh tracks. It rained here few days ago so they've got to be really recent tracks.
We're gonna set up the door for our trap on tuesday or wednesday and put one more trap on other location.
I will post up pictures of rooted sites, our traps, our plans, and progress. (By the way, how do I post pictures here???)Wish us luck guys.
Welcome to the site!!!!
Thank you very much for your hospitality :army
