Anyone do it? And if so where do you aim for?
I'm shooting a Mathews MR7 set at 70# for now with cut on contact two blade magnum stingers. Had a nice boar in front of me at 20yd for an hour yesterday but he never gave me a good quartering away shot. I was tempted to just drill him between the eyes but I've heard of bullets bouncing off their heads.
Thanks.
Ive head shot several hogs with my bow at fairly close range. Just at the base of the ear like you would with a rifle and they go right down. Im sure the margin for error is larger but if there inside 25 yards its been no big deal. If Im gonna shoot a hog thats where I try to shoot it regardless of what Im hunting with because...Blood trails suck.. :death
I have way more success with the lung shots. I put arrows right thru the head giving them the Steve Mlook and they run run run. I taken a 252 lb bore with a lung shoot. yes you will lose some it hunting

Yeah, they'll make you blood trail them through some crap. I also heard through the eye socket?

I like an extreme quartering away shot for big hogs with shields. I try to slip it behind the shield and through the heart.
Smaller ones I'll take a quartering away shot and aim for the far shoulder. Find them 20 ft away.
