The best trophy is a nice batch of fried backstrap with mashed taters and gravy, cathead biscuits, etc.
Try to get a 100 acre piece thats not in the planted pines. Swampy or thicker areas will hold much more. A bear proof feeder is about the only way to draw them in and keep them there. Otherwise they will just show up at night and eat what you spread out.
One thing I will say that is fact. I have killed whitetails in 8 different states,and by far a Florida swamp buck is the smartest and hardest to hunt critter I have ever met. They are a challenge and my hats off to you guys who consistantly kill good bucks here with bows,BP's,stand hunting or running hounds on them.
So when can you shoot a bear in FL? If he threatens you, or does he have to chew one of your legs off before you can shoot?
