We have always fed or dogs a few scraps but vet said to heat them up to kill any parasites, worms and so on that may be there.

I've got my britts on a self feed program with kibble, but hate to waste anything so they get alot of scraps, even eat vegies, salad carrots, whatever. wt has always been healthy and consistent, actualy trying to get the female to put on some muscle, since her cruciate ligament tears, her hind quarters have withered but are building back up and thought a little extra protien would help. she is a gavone, eats double what her brother the larger male eats, gotta hold her back at times to give caesar a chance to get some food.I know I spoil em rotten and even make broth from any bones or chicken/turkey carcasses to put over kibble now and then.as we have no kids they are it, but at least we don't have to worry about putting them thru college or paying for a wedding.

Nacho,my dogs have honestly eaten hundreds of baby pigs whole thru the years. I don't feed my dogs any raw pork,I usually boil it. With all the little ones they ate and all the large ones they've bitten they've never became ill from it. I wouldn't advise feeding them raw pork because of the disweases they carry some transmittable to dogs, but like I said mine have never gotten sick.

I never fed my dogs any raw meat from wild game just for the reason of parasites......and I can't recall them ever complaining about eating cooked game either! :toast
