I went out this weekend and had nothing but bad luck. Sunday afternoon my family and I went for a walk in the Homosassa WMA (because season is closed till 12/26) and after walking for less them 1 minute we see a family of hogs. After walking a few more minutes we see some real nice deer (cannot hunt deer here even in season). Then needing to hunt I went back home and loaded up the skiff to hit some islands for hog or deer. Got to the ramp and saw the tide was ripping out and the water was getting super low. Went anyway, got to the islands and nothing. Then heading back in the shoreline on the river was alive with deer and hog. I could not shoot any of them because it was after dark and that part of the river is a NO HUNTING zone. So all in all I froze my butt of for nothing :oops .
hahaha. At least you got out there. Sounds like some animals are in trouble come Dec 26th.
you know what they say, " if it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have no luck at all " I hunted that same spot I did sun from 6:30-10:30 this am saw nothing, but could hear movement in the low pines. I think at this point in the season the game knows where and when it's safe and where it's not. maybe we should focus on areas as close to no hunting zones as possible, early and late.
Cass is beat up! I did find a nice new spot in Homosassa that I will set my blind up in. :phear
