Those of you that get FWC News Releases will get this news probably tomorrow, but just in case you don't I wanted you all to be aware of this opportunity.
Due to an abundance of wild hogs a number of hunting opportunities will be available during the coming months on the Bradwell Unit of the Apalachicola Wildlife Management Area. FWC has quota permits available for hog-dog and still hunts for May, June and July hunts on the 1,400-acre tract in Liberty County.
The hog-dog hunts are set for the night-time hours of May 1-3, June 5-7 and July 3-5. Three quota permits will be issued for each three-day hunt and the permit holder can bring along one guest . The permit holder and guest are limited to one firearm. Dogs of any size or breed are allowed but they are limited to no more than three dogs per permit holder.
Still hunting will be legal during the daytime May 15-17, June 19-21 and July 17-19. Up to six permits will be issued for each still hunt and they are transferrable.
Anyone interested in applying for the hunts can do so beginning April 21 at 10 a.m. EDT through the Total Licensing System at county tax collectors’ offices, or online on a first-come, first-served basis at MyFWC.com/license.
Subsequent drawings will be held in July for August and September hunts.
There will be no size or bag limit on hogs. No live hogs may be removed from the area.
