Yep, Tony up at Clay County Transmission is doing the tranny now. I happy with the cost. There was MAJOR damage to it since all the fluid blew out when the radiator failed and was replaced. Apparently when we replaced the radiator on the side of the road, one of the bolts wasn't tightend down and the result was that the tranny got a bit WARM...LOL
The motor quote was simply what was discussed around the water cooler so to speak. It will probably be cheaper once I actually start looking around, and at any rate I WONT be going where he got it for reasons other than cost....
I'm not sure about the code. Tony discovered it when he was diagnosing the transmission. When I go pick it up, I'll get the details on the code and have the motor looked at more closely.
If I had known I could of saved you a ton on the tranny rebuild. I work at a shop that does mostly Fords and we do performance 4r70w's all the time.
Well I appreciate it but I'm not too worried about it. It's not like he butt-raped me, LOL.
Where's your shop at? Ya'll do engines?

Reinhart Automotive in Orange Park. And yes we can do pretty much anything on that truck.
I'll give another vote for keep the truck and replace the motor with a crate motor. Use a shop that does Fords all the time. I have a 96 F150 249,000 miles, straight 6, standard, and will be replacing the motor when it decides it's done all it can.
