well.... SOOO>. im driving down 19 and all of a sudden the truck shuts off and i lose all power.. I manage to get the steering wheel towards the cvs parking lot and roll to a stop.

SO im sitting there cranking it and nothing... So this guy comes up and says "So you just did your fuel pump?" im like YEA how do you know.. He says "well that puddle of gas under your truck means the hose either came disconnected or the stem on the top of the pump where the hose connects cracked off". In like W.T.F.

So i call my mechanic (he is honest and does all the work on my truck for the past 2 years) i even put up a thread how his mom and pop shop is very honest and great!.. Well he asks where im at and he sends one of his techs out. The guy comes in 10 minutes and walks up to me and had a plastic washer in his hand. He says "Yep the only part that does not come on the new pump, Saw it on my bench this morning and was wondering why it was there, When i heard you broke down i figured that your new pump didnt have this washer on the connection hose. its basically like a small spacer that allows the hose to LOCK in place so when it gets under pressure it wont disconnect. he got under the truck and 5 mins later i was driving.

I drove it for 2 hours just to make sure it was ok.. And its ok now. He was very apologetic, and kept telling me how sorry he was. I just said well humans make mistakes and as long as my trucks running and cost me nothing im ok.

IT runs now and its fine.

the hose disconnected at the pump (it wasn't clicked in)..

Sucky part is when i lost power i has no power steering and horse turned it into the cvs parking lot and almost cracked up a mini van. Thank god the guy just stayed there as i got around him.

Well truck runs fine now. Guess all the things i changed (on my own) were just a 1500 dollar waste cause it was none of that stuff, the fuel pump did the trick!

I hate trucks...cars and anything mechanical.

Pens even give me fits.
