I just got my oil changed in Gainesville because i have been busy and didn't have time to do it my self. First thing i asked was if they could do it in less than an hour. Oh ya shouldn't take more than 30mins. I walked over to publix to get a sub for lunch to come back 35mins later to find they haven't even started on my car! :eek I should have left right than but didn't.... Finally they take my car back and throw it up on a lift and guy comes in and tells me my starter was going bad cause it was messing bolts and the one bolt that was still there was loose...But that they could fix it for $200. I told them no that i just needed my oil changed. My car than sits on the lift for 20mins before they actually start the oil change after i told them no just the oil change. Finally they bring the keys in and i pull out my card to pay and they tell me oh sorry we cant take cards the machine is down....the lady before me used a card with out a problem....well its down now. And by the way the guy finger tighten the one starter bolt that was left....I was like WTF finger tighten it? Was the wrench too far away?? Cause its the same one that remove the oil drain plug???? So he already had it out........ Well sir that would cost extra and you told us just an oil change. I throw down the cash for the oil chain and walked out. Little did they know i just replaced the starter my self 3 months ago. I drove to work and got under the car...Sure enough the bolts were loose done were missing but they had been loosened....but not by me driving the car. I have replaced at least 10 starters on different cars and i have never had one come loose.

SOunds like the asshole that did my pinion seal. (my regular mechanic doesn't do rear end work). Used wrong sized seal and used caulking to seal it in. I would have literally beat his ass if he didn't have a pit bull roaming around the shop that looked like it had been fed hot sauce

I actualy had a good/honest exp just recently with a roadside assistance guy. after hauling 200 lbs of corn and a ladder out to my feeder cuz I knew my knee just could not do it. 4x4'd thru/over some rough spots I ended up with a flat, got the truck up to a flat cement area, got it jacked up, lug nuts off and spare down but the rim was rusted on and I could not budge it loose with a big crow bar and 2 come alongs. called roadside assistance and a big ol country boy shows up, kicks the rim with his size 16's and the wheel pops off, guess you need the right tool for the right job. he wasn't there for 5 minutes and only charged what the card would pay. +1 for Sams towing in Bksvl. ps, gonna carry a sledge from now on also.
