So, I get home from work yesterday and come walking in the door, my son (4) comes running up to me and asks if I can strap a flashlight to his gun (one of those deer hunter guns you plug into the TV), I tell ya, it almost brought a tear to my eye... :rockon So I proceed to strap this big old flashlight to this little old plastic shotgun so he can tear around the house scarring the crap out of the dogs with it. :taz
I didn't give it much thought until later that evening. Went to take the dogs outside after it was dark and the rain had stopped. I turn around and the kid is spotlighting toads who had found their way into the pool. He caught 5 in 3 or 4 minutes and stuck them in an aquarium with a lid. We left them outside for the evening and they were making an awful racket....
Fast forward to this morning, the wife gets up 1st, takes the boy and the dogs outside....all of a sudden here he comes tearing through the house, screaming, he runs into my bedroom carrying that aquarium with what look like 15 frogs crawling all over each other, when they all croak in unison, the entire aquarium starts to vibrating and shaking. It seems he caught another 10 or so between the pool, deck and vegetable garden. He is now officially known at the frog wrangler.......ofcourse I made him let them all go before he went to school this morning...but he sure is looking forward to more rain tonight.......he wants to go hunting!! :rock_on
Triple Creek Reaper, This is what we need more of!!! Little boys and girls learning about something besides video games. Very few children actually have chores to do outside and never take time to expeience all those little things that the Lord created for us to see and wonder about. Encourage him to hunt them ol' frogs and one day he will probably want to hunt them ol' deer with you! Thanks for sharing your boy with us! Treefarmer
Great story.
Sounds like you have a future hunting buddy there.
