Uh. I'm tired. I could never make it as a truck driver
My sister is moving from Vidalia, GA back to Tampa next week. My moms car was still up there and we had to get it back down here. I tried to get several of my friends to make the road trip with me to get my moms car(offered to pay gas/food both ways), but everyone seemed to be too busy to go.. Funny, they weren't too busy when I invited them to go hunting this past season. Oh well..
So I rented a car yesterday, and drove my arse up there by myself. Turned the car in, helped sissy around the house up there with things she couldn't handle, like draining fuel out of lawn equipment, etc. Spent the night, loaded moms car up with stuff the movers won't haul like gas cans, bbq supplies, guns,ammo, booze, etc..
Left this morning and shot across to Claxton, GA to the cemetery to see my dad. It had been almost 2 years since I had been there, so I spent quite a bit of time, and not sure when I will be back up there.
Then decided I wanted to take a different route home. I was tired of the 55mph crap backroads and a cop behind every tree waiting to write a ticket for being 3 over. So I headed SE and hit I95 outside of Ludowici, and took that all the all the way to jacksonville. Hit I-10 to 301 to I75, then on to the house. It was a nice drive and actually didn't add too many more miles
Glad to be back home in my Archie Bunker chair. Trip ended up being 699 miles
Oh, I did get a 36" Plasma screen TV. No room for it where sissy is moving to, so I got it in my living room :toast
I do believe I would do 699 miles overnight for a free 36' plasma. That trip reminds me of heading up to my old hunting property in Oglethorpe GA however I required atleast a 3 day stay to make the trip. Just didn't seem worth it otherwise.
