I got some family in the North Port area where I moved out from. There is not much I can't or won't do. Except go back to my old job. I will never go back to that. I still have nightmares. Sat. before last I got a call for a interview with Wally World in Venice but they wanted me to come right in and could not wait for me to get down. I know thing are bad all over but at least down there I should stand a chance of getting a interview when I find some place that has openings. Up here if you ain't from around here they don't want to talk to you. I have had one interview since I've been here ( April ) and he was just interested in what I did on my last job. He never planed on hiring me. ( A day later he had the job relisted. )
It's still sucking down here unless your a Mexican. I know Missouri was picking up pretty good.
My brother-in-law said Jax. is starting to boom.
Did they have a natural gas explosion or something? That's about the only boom in FL you'll see for the next 5-10 years. Even the large companies like Lowes, have been effected in FL. I went to buy some thin wall sticks of irrigation pipe about a month ago since they had it on-sale in the newspaper for $.52 a stick. I got there on the second day of the sale and they only had 23 sticks left. I figured that they must have sold the 10-20, 50 stick bundles they used to keep on hand. I asked the manager if they had anymore or when more would be in and was told they only had 3 - 50 stick bundles delivered for the entire sale and no more was scheduled to be delivered to the store. The big companies aren't even able to keep inventory in stock, storage or in the warehouse due to cost and over head. Most work (construction trades) is government (fed, state, county, and city) work. Regular commericial job bids are being released and awarded at either labor only prices or for below operating cost. Our sister company in GA just started feeling the recession which hit FL in OCt 2008 about six months ago. We are in deep shit here man...
we have been pretty steady. On track to have my best year numbers wise ($$$$).
