I've thought of that too. I've got a few of those foil/plastic zipper bags from computer parts that are pretty heavy, and might work well for that. Or, I have some small glass jars with lids that would probably work even better. I may go to the "Do it yourself pest control" place this weekend and see if I can't pick some up. Or, hit the tack shack or Tractor Supply.
I sprayed some of my homemade permeterin mix directly on the lit thermacell pad and after the water evaporated it did smoke some. would probly work better if you soaked the pad then let them dry but I'm concerned over breathing in those vapors.
I wouldn't be concerned unless ur in a confined area. I accidentally left my TC on when I got in the truck, and it "reminded" me about 5 mins later when I could hardly breath. I can't imagine that the permeterin would be any worse. Just make sure the TC is on the downwind side of ya. Even a slight breeze will be enough to keep your breathing air safe.
